Abstract: Solving partial differential equation on manifold have many applications in geometry data

processing, image processing, graphics and machine learning. In this talk I will mainly focus on the point

cloud, a data structure that representing a manifold by a set of data points in space. First I will briefly

review several different methods to solve differential equations on point clouds with theoretical

guarantee. Then I will introduce our recent on going work to utilize the relationship between sparse

representation and PDE to solve PDEs on manifold.
